What We’ll Need
The Senior Manager, Social Media will own the day-to-day strategy and operation for how Wingstop shows up across social. Turning business priorities, brand strategy, customer insights and cultural intelligence into clear social priorities; lead the team and agency partners; and ensure always-on and campaign work operate as one connected portfolio. You will be the day-to-day leader of Wingstop Organic Social: setting priorities, making clear social decisions, running the operating rhythm and creating the conditions for the team and partners to execute with speed and quality. This role is the primary strategic and operational partner to the Director, Social + Influencer and is accountable for turning strategy into action without every decision escalating upward.
Social Strategy & Editorial
- Lead Wingstop’s always- on and campaign social strategy, setting a clear vision for how the brand shows up across platforms and cultural moments.
- Translate brand and business priorities, customer insights, and cultural intelligence into strategic social direction, assignments, and channel plans.
- Establish the role of Organic Social—whether to lead, support, or have no role—across campaigns, menu launches, partnerships, and priority brand moments.
- Own editorial priorities and portfolio-level tradeoffs across social initiatives, ensuring resources are focused on the highest-impact opportunities. Define and evolve how Wingstop’s brand assets, customer behaviors, and cultural relevance come to life natively across social platforms.
Social Operations & Leadership
- Directly manage and develop the organic social operations and team.
- Lead the weekly editorial and planning rhythm, balancing priorities against team capacity and timelines.
- Establish clear owners, decision points, approvals and escalation paths so work moves without unnecessary friction.
- Lead Organic Social agency and vendor relationships; set expectations, challenge recommendations and hold partners accountable for outcomes.
- Oversee platform stewardship, publishing, community management, reactive engagement and crisis escalation.
- Own social budget pacing, SOW and vendor oversight; direct coordinator support on POs, invoices and procurement.
- Coach and empower team members to make decisions within clear standards and ownership lanes.
Performance & Optimization
- Partner with Social Intelligence to turn performance, customer, community and cultural signals into decisions.
- Use learning to continuously improve editorial priorities, channel strategy, creative assignments and amplification decisions.
- Use performance insights and business impact to determine which social strategies to repeat, refine, discontinue, or scale.
- Own organic amplification recommendations and partner with Media/Connect, who own paid execution.
What You’ll Need
- 8-12 years of experience in social media, digital marketing, brand or related disciplines, with meaningful ownership of social strategy and execution.
- Demonstrated experience leading social teams with a focus on always-on and campaign execution across major social platforms.
- Strong editorial judgment and the ability to translate business and brand strategy into clear social choices.
- Experience leading agencies, vendors and cross-functional partners with clear accountability and decision rights.
- Strong operational judgment: prioritization, workflow, budget/vendor management and the ability to keep multiple workstreams moving.
- Fluency in social performance, community dynamics, platform behavior and paid/organic integration.
- Excellent communication, presentation and people leadership skills; able to make recommendations and decisions with incomplete information.
- QSR, restaurant, retail or food culture experience a plus.
