Site Merchandising Manager
PJ BorenPhilip J. Boren is seeking a highly organized, resourceful, and detail-oriented eCommerce Site Merchandising Manager to help our clients build and maintain best-in-class ecommerce experiences, with a primary focus on Amazon.
The Site Merchandising Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management and optimization of clients' ecommerce catalogs. This role combines catalog management, content creation, creative execution, troubleshooting, and project management to ensure products are accurately represented, discoverable, compelling, and optimized for conversion.
The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who is comfortable managing a high volume of projects across multiple brands and product categories. They should have strong written and visual communication skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to navigate complex ecommerce platforms and catalog issues.
This role will work extensively within Amazon Vendor Central and Seller Central and will leverage AI and emerging technologies to improve the quality, efficiency, and scalability of site merchandising work.
Key Responsibilities
- New Item Setup & Catalog Management: Own the end-to-end setup of new products on Amazon, ensuring accurate product information, categorization, attributes, images, variation structures, and other required catalog data.
- Product Detail Page Optimization: Build, audit, and optimize product detail pages to improve discoverability, customer experience, conversion rate, and sales.
- Copywriting & SEO: Create and optimize product titles, bullet points, descriptions, keywords, and other ecommerce copy while maintaining brand voice, accuracy, SEO best practices, and retailer requirements.
- Infographic & Creative Development: Develop ecommerce infographics and other visual assets that clearly communicate product features, benefits, dimensions, use cases, and competitive differentiators.
- Light Graphic Design: Create and modify ecommerce imagery using tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva, or comparable creative platforms.
- A+ Content & Brand Stores: Build, update, and optimize Amazon A+ Content, Premium A+ Content, Brand Stores, and other enhanced merchandising experiences.
- Variation Management: Create, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize parent-child variation families to provide customers with an intuitive shopping experience while complying with Amazon policies.
- Vendor Central & Seller Central Management: Work extensively within Amazon Vendor Central and Seller Central to manage catalog content, product setup, merchandising initiatives, and account-specific issues.
- Case & Ticket Management: Open, manage, escalate, and follow through on Amazon support cases to resolve catalog errors, suppressed content, variation issues, contribution conflicts, incorrect attributes, and other operational problems.
- Catalog Auditing: Proactively identify inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or under-optimized product content and develop solutions to improve catalog health.
- AI Utilization: Effectively use AI tools to accelerate research, copywriting, content development, image creation and editing, data analysis, troubleshooting, and other merchandising workflows while maintaining strong standards for accuracy and brand consistency.
- Client & Stakeholder Communication: Work directly with clients and internal teams to gather assets, understand brand guidelines and business priorities, communicate project status, and recommend merchandising improvements.
- Project Management: Manage multiple brands, projects, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously while maintaining consistent quality and follow-through.
- Virtual Assistant Management & Delegation: Manage and coordinate offshore virtual assistants by delegating appropriate projects and recurring tasks, providing clear instructions and training, monitoring progress and quality, and ensuring work is completed accurately and on schedule.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Account Management, Advertising, Creative, and other internal teams to ensure merchandising initiatives support broader client objectives.
- Platform Expertise: Stay current on Amazon catalog requirements, content policies, new merchandising capabilities, and ecommerce best practices.
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in ecommerce, digital merchandising, content management, marketplace management, or a related field.
- Experience working within Amazon Vendor Central and/or Seller Central strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of ecommerce product detail pages, SEO, product taxonomy, and conversion-focused content.
- Excellent copywriting, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Strong visual judgment and experience creating or editing ecommerce imagery.
- Ability to manage a large number of simultaneous projects, tasks, and deadlines.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly when diagnosing catalog and platform issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams.
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to changing ecommerce platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with both Amazon Vendor Central and Seller Central.
- Experience with Amazon catalog management, including new-item setup, variation creation and troubleshooting, content contributions, and support cases.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva, or similar design tools.
- Experience using generative AI tools for copywriting, research, image development, data analysis, and workflow automation.
- Experience with additional ecommerce marketplaces such as Walmart, Wayfair, Home Depot, or other major retailers.
- Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills.
- Experience working in an agency environment or managing multiple brands simultaneously.

Compensation:
Salary range: $90,000–$104,000 per year, depending on experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role.
Specific compensation is determined through interviews and a review of relevant education, experience, training, skills, geographic location and alignment with market data. Additionally, certain positions may be eligible to receive a discretionary incentive bonus as determined by incentive program guidelines, position eligibility and Senior Management approval.
