Social Media Manager (Hospitality / Travel)

Mediabistro

Orlando, FL (Hybrid) | Full-Time

About the Role

A villa-style resort on International Drive in Orlando, minutes from Universal Orlando and part of the Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy collection, is hiring a Social Media Manager to own how the property shows up online. The resort offers multi-bedroom villas built for families and groups, a waterpark, and seasonal experiences. Its brand voice is premium but never stiff, and content should make people feel the splash, the sunset, and the room to spread out.

This is a hands-on, creative role for someone who can shoot a reel at the pool in the morning, turn that footage into a scroll-stopping piece of content, and brief a creator by the afternoon. The position covers everything from everyday organic posting to ad creative for paid campaigns to influencer partnerships that bring the resort to new audiences. Candidates must be local to Orlando and available to work on-site regularly.

What the Role Covers

Organic Content and Community

  • Building and running the monthly content calendar across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, and LinkedIn, aligned to occupancy goals, seasonal offers, and on-property events
  • Shooting, editing, and publishing short-form video, photography, and Stories on property, capturing guest moments, amenities, food and beverage, and seasonal programming
  • Writing captions in the resort's brand voice: specific, sensory, and scene-setting
  • Managing daily community engagement: responding to comments and DMs, escalating service issues to guest relations, and resharing user-generated content with permission
  • Tracking emerging trends, formats, and audio; moving quickly when something fits the brand
  • Growing the resort's LinkedIn presence to reach meeting planners, corporate groups, and travel trade partners

Paid Social Creative

  • Modifying organic videos and carousels for paid campaigns on Meta and TikTok
  • Producing creative for seasonal and promotional pushes including summer, Halloween and Halloween Horror Nights season, holiday and cultural-holiday packages, and group and event travel
  • Delivering multiple creative variations for testing, correctly sized and formatted for every placement
  • Partnering with the paid media team on creative briefs and refreshing creative based on performance feedback

Influencer and Creator Partnerships

  • Sourcing, vetting, and recruiting creators across family travel, Orlando and theme parks, lifestyle, food, and local Central Florida niches
  • Negotiating terms and managing partnerships end to end: outreach, contracts, stay coordination, content briefs, approvals, and payment
  • Hosting creator stays on property in coordination with operations
  • Building a repeatable creator program with an evergreen roster and seasonal activations; flagging top-performing creator content for repurposing in paid ads
  • Measuring partnership impact by reach, engagement, content quality, and attributable bookings

Strategy, Brand, and Reporting

  • Keeping all content aligned with resort brand standards and Marriott Bonvoy brand and partner guidelines
  • Delivering quarterly organic and creator performance reports with clear takeaways and recommendations
  • Collaborating with marketing, sales, revenue management, F&B, and on-property teams to surface stories and support business priorities

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of social media experience, ideally with hospitality, travel, tourism, or lifestyle brands
  • A portfolio of social creative, especially short-form video and carousels, for travel, hospitality, or lifestyle brands
  • Experience or interest in managing influencer or brand partnerships
  • Strong short-form video skills including shooting and editing on mobile with CapCut, Premiere Rush, or similar tools
  • Excellent writing skills with a sharp ear for brand voice and platform-native tone
  • Working knowledge of social analytics and scheduling tools
  • Highly organized with ability to juggle a content calendar, creative deadlines, and live partnerships concurrently
  • Available for occasional evening and weekend work for events, creator stays, and seasonal activations
  • Must reside in or near the Orlando area

Nice to Have

  • Experience with branded or franchised hospitality (Marriott, Hilton, etc.) and working within brand guidelines
  • Familiarity with the Orlando tourism landscape and theme park audiences
  • Photography, drone, or basic design skills (Canva, Adobe Express, Lightroom)
  • Familiarity with ad specs and creative best practices across platforms
  • Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Portuguese

Additional Details

Salary is competitive based on experience. Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance; paid time off and holidays; 401(k); and hotel and resort discounts across the resort and Marriott portfolios.
