SEO Manager
Become Alive RecruitingSEO Manager
Confidential Client (Digital Marketing Advertising Agency)· Hybrid, Lehi, UT · Full-time · $65,000–$70,000 annual salary
About the Company
Our client is a Google Partner performance-marketing agency in Utah County with $100M+ in ad spend managed and 15+ years of experience behind the team. They serve local service businesses (attorneys, chiropractors, contractors, dealers, and home-service companies) and run their websites, local SEO and content, reputation management, CRM and automation, social, and paid media.
Their promise to clients is simple: report on leads and sales, not vanity metrics. And because they're a small team, clients get real access to the people doing the work, which means you will too.
They've also built proprietary technology to help the team work better and faster. It supports people rather than replacing them, so quality stays high and every client still gets the human touch.
About the Culture
This agency believes people are the difference. It's a team of driven, hungry, scrappy individuals who want to leave a legacy and build long-term careers. The culture is built on collaboration, innovation, real professional growth, and core values centered on authenticity, ownership, and balance. From day one, you'll be trusted to make an impact.
About the Role
Most of this agency's clients have paid for marketing before and couldn't tell you what it produced. As SEO Manager, you'll make sure that never happens on your watch. You'll read the data, build the plan, and sit across from a business owner to explain exactly what's working, what isn't, and what you're doing about it.
This is a ground floor opportunity that doesn't come around often. Instead of fitting into an established SEO team, you'll help create one, shaping how the agency audits, reports, and approaches search as it grows. For the right person, this role has a clear path to leading SEO as the team expands.
Twelve months in, you'll be running SEO strategy for your own set of client accounts, leading their monthly and quarterly reviews, and presenting reports that prove what organic search is producing. You'll also be the person the team turns to with search questions, from technical fixes to AI-driven search.
Who This Is For
You're the right fit if you love figuring out why a business shows up (or doesn't) when a customer searches, and you can't rest until you've connected that work to real calls, form fills, and booked jobs. You check Search Console before your inbox, and a ranking jump is something you can't wait to explain to a client.
You've done the hands-on work, and now you want the strategy, the client relationships, and the ownership. If running your own book of clients, working directly with the agency partners, and figuring out how AI search is changing the game sounds like fun instead of pressure, read on.
What's Hard About This Job
Local SEO takes months to pay off, and business owners want results now. You'll have conversations about slow months, and you'll need to back them up with data and a clear next step. You'll also be juggling several accounts at once, so staying organized matters as much as knowing SEO.
What You'll Do
- Own SEO strategy for a portfolio of local-service clients, from the first audit to a quarterly roadmap.
- Lead client calls and strategy reviews, explain results in plain language, and set honest expectations.
- Build and maintain reporting in GA4, Google Search Console, and Looker Studio that connects rankings and traffic to leads and revenue.
- Dig into performance data to find what's moving results, then reprioritize the work around it.
- Direct on-page, technical, local (Google Business Profile), and content work with the fulfillment team.
- Track how AI Overviews and answer engines are changing local search, and adapt the approach.
- Partner with the paid media, web, and reputation teams so each client gets one coherent plan.
