Director of Performance Marketing

Sprints is looking for a performance marketer who can lead our DTC business and continue its role as a high-converting, highly measurable growth engine.
This is not just a paid media role.
We are looking for someone who thinks about the entire customer journey from the first piece of creative someone sees on social media, through the experience they have on our website, to whether they come back and buy from us again.
Your job is to figure out how we acquire more customers, convert more of them, increase what they spend, get them to come back more often, and do all of it profitably.
What You'll Own
Customer Acquisition
- Paid customer acquisition: campaign set-up and management across Meta, Google, TikTok and emerging channels.
- Build the strategy for how we deploy our marketing dollars and continuously improve CAC, ROAS, contribution margin and LTV.
- Develop testing roadmaps across audiences, offers, products, channels and campaigns.
- Know when to scale winners, when to kill losers and where the next incremental dollar should go.
Performance
Creative
- Turn creative into a performance discipline.
- Work closely with our brand and creative teams to develop a constant pipeline of new concepts, hooks, formats and iterations.
- Build a system for understanding WHY creative wins, not simply which ad won.
- Translate performance data into actionable creative briefs and help us dramatically increase the speed and quality of creative testing.
- Balance the art of what makes Sprints distinctive with the science of what makes someone click and buy.
Website & Conversion
- Own the commercial performance of.
- Constantly look for ways to improve conversion rate, merchandising, product discovery, landing pages, PDPs, cart, checkout, bundles, upsells and offers.
- Build and manage a disciplined CRO and A/B testing roadmap.
- Lead full platform redesign in partnership with CEO
Retention & LTV
- Help us build a business that doesn't have to reacquire the same customer every time we want to make another sale.
- Own the strategy around repeat purchase, lifecycle marketing, segmentation, cross-sell, replenishment and reactivation.
- Work across email, SMS and the onsite experience to increase customer lifetime value.
- Understand who our best customers are, what they buy next, how long it takes them to come back and how we create more customers like them.
Analytics & Growth Economics
- Build a clear view of the economics of our DTC business.
- Analyze our CAC, MER, ROAS, AOV, CVR, repeat rate, LTV and contribution margin and understand how those metrics interact.
- Plan against aligned budget & update forecasts and models to show what needs to be true for us to reach $20M+ DTC revenue.
Who We're Looking For
- You have built or meaningfully scaled a consumer DTC/e-commerce business before.
- You have personally managed meaningful paid media budgets and understand Meta and Google at a deep level.
- Have an understand creative strategy, CRO, merchandising, retention and customer economics and how they work together.
- You are highly analytical but have strong creative instincts.
- You are comfortable getting into the details yourself. You can open Ads Manager, analyze a landing page, dig through Shopify data, build a model and write a creative brief.
- You move quickly, test aggressively and don't wait for perfect information.
- You care about profitable growth, not vanity metrics.
- You are naturally curious and constantly asking: Why did this work? Why didn't that work? What should we test next?
