Store Merchandiser

Description

The Store Merchandiser is responsible for executing merchandise placement and presentation standards to create an appealing shopping environment. This role involves a variety of tasks aimed at maintaining an organized, clean, and well-stocked sales floor. The Merchandiser will be expected to adapt to business needs, performing various functions across the store to support operational and customer service goals. This position is central to enhancing the "treasure hunt" experience that Ross offers its value-conscious customers by ensuring a fresh and exciting product assortment is always available and well-presented.

Qualifications

• Possesses strong organizational and prioritization skills.
• Demonstrates business understanding and a collaborative mindset.
• Leads by example and maintains effective communication with customers, peers, and management.
• Capable of performing basic retail math calculations.
• Proficient in using store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PCs.
• Must be able to stand, walk, and move around the store for extended periods.
• Physical ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop regularly.
• Ability to push, pull, and lift items weighing more than 25 pounds occasionally.
• Comfortable using janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other supplies.
• Specific assignments may require additional qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Ensures a positive customer experience by maintaining an attractive and well-organized sales floor.
• Manages the flow of new merchandise from the stockroom to the sales floor, ensuring timely and accurate placement.
• Adheres to company-wide visual merchandising guidelines and presentation standards.
• Performs daily sizing and recovery tasks to keep the store neat, clean, and organized.
• Assists customers with merchandise, answers questions, and provides courteous service.
• Maintains a secure and safe shopping environment by correcting or reporting unsafe conditions promptly.
• Follows all loss prevention and shortage control policies, including proper handling of merchandise and sensitive information.
• Handles cash, credit, and other transactions with accuracy and integrity.
• Performs general store upkeep, including cleaning tasks to ensure a professional and sanitary environment.
• Demonstrates a sense of urgency and efficiency in all tasks to maximize productivity.
• Collaborates with team members to achieve store goals and uphold company standards.
