Social Media and Marketing Coordinator
Rapid River Knifeworks IncAbout the Role
Rapid River Knifeworks is one of America’s premier custom knife brands, and we are growing fast. We are looking for a self-motivated operator to join our team in Rapid River and take ownership of our daily digital operations.
You will not just be an employee; you will be a strategic partner in scaling this business. You will work directly inside our shop, learning the operation from the ground up, while serving as the "right hand" to our external agency partners.
This is a rare opportunity to get a world-class education in digital marketing and e-commerce while working in the outdoor industry.
What You Will Do (The Mission)
You are the "Digital Shop Foreman." Your job is to ensure our online presence is as sharp as our knives.
- Own the Online Store: Manage our e-commerce platform (Shopify). You will update product inventory, upload new knife photos, write descriptions, and ensure the website matches reality in the shop.
- Customer Experience: Handle digital customer inquiries. You are the voice of the brand for online buyers.
- Content Capture: Be the "eyes and ears" of the marketing team. You will take photos and videos of the manufacturing process, new handles, and finished blades to feed our social media and ad campaigns.
- Agency Liaison: You will have strategy calls with our external Marketing Agency. You will provide them with the assets and feedback they need to run profitable ad campaigns.
- Quality Control: Ensure that every order, email, and post meets the high standards of the Rapid River brand.
Who You Are
- You Live the Lifestyle: You hunt, fish, or spend serious time outdoors. You understand why a good knife matters.
- You Are Detail-Obsessed: You check things three times. Shipping the wrong knife to a customer is not an option for you.
- You Are Ambitious: You aren't looking for a place to hide; you are looking for a place to grow. You want to learn how a 7-figure brand scales.
- You Are Tech-Savvy: You may not be a "coder," but you are comfortable figuring out new software, navigating back-end systems, and using a camera.
- You Are Coachable: You don’t need to know everything about marketing yet—we will teach you. But you must be eager to learn.
Requirements
- Must be located in (or willing to relocate to) Rapid River, MI / Delta County area.
- Strong written communication skills (no typos in customer emails).
- Basic photography skills (phone photography is acceptable if you have a good eye).
- Ability to work independently without being micromanaged.
Why Join Us?
- Impact: Your work will directly drive the growth of an iconic American manufacturer.
- Culture: Work in a "no-BS" environment with people who love what they do.
To Apply: Please submit your resume and a brief cover letter explaining why you want to work in the outdoor industry.
