Marketing & Business Development Analyst in Bergen County, NJ

Job Summary
A well-established law firm is seeking a Marketing and Business Development Analyst to join its Marketing Department in Northern New Jersey. This role supports firm-wide growth efforts through data-driven analysis, marketing support, and business development strategy, and reports directly to the Chief Marketing and Business Development Officer.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct market research, competitive intelligence, and business opportunity analysis to support practice groups and industry teams
- Develop intelligence reports on clients, prospects, and market trends to inform strategic decisions
- Track and report on legal market, industry, and competitor trends
- Provide data and analytics insights to support marketing and business development initiatives
- Oversee CRM and experience database input, and implement systematic matter reporting from attorneys
- Maintain and improve internal resources for efficient pitch and proposal creation
- Assist with preparing RFPs, proposals, and presentations aligned with firm priorities
- Collaborate with team members to refine pitch materials and optimize processes
- Analyze pitch/proposal outcomes and identify areas for improvement
- Create promotional collateral aligned with brand and strategic goals
- Lead high-quality submissions for legal rankings and awards, including coordination with PR agencies
- Partner with attorneys and practice leaders to support business development efforts
- Proactively identify new business opportunities using research and data insights
- Leverage CRM tools to manage outreach and engagement
- Provide team coverage during peak periods or absences to ensure continuity
Must-Have Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 3–5 years of experience in marketing, business development, or research/analytics
- Strong administrative, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Excellent professional writing, proofreading, and editing skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications & Soft Skills
- Prior experience in a professional services setting (e.g., law, consulting, accounting)
- Familiarity with CRM and research tools (e.g., Nexl, Foundations, Bloomberg Law, Dun & Bradstreet)
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights
- Creative approach to marketing and business development strategy
- Willingness to travel occasionally between offices
- Flexible, solutions-focused mindset and team-oriented attitude
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range: $75k+ annually
- Competitive starting salary commensurate with experience
