Marketing and Social Media Coordinator

This is a hands-on, high-impact role that blends strategy, content creation, digital marketing, and design. The ideal candidate is equal parts creative storyteller, dynamic interviewer, and marketing generalist. They will develop bold ideas for video content, manage production, lead social-first storytelling, oversee content management, cover live events, engage in PR and community activities, handle website and email marketing, and support various school events.
Key Responsibilities
- Content ideation – Dream up bold, creative ideas for video content that increases school awareness and makes GISB unforgettable.
- Video production – Capture high-quality footage, including filming, lighting, sound, and directing talent.
- Social-first storytelling – Plan, create, and execute social content for platforms like Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube.
- Content management – Manage and curate social media schedules including editorial calendar development and campaign analysis.
- On-site action – Cover live events, conduct interviews with students, families, teachers, and community members.
- PR and Community Engagement – Promote community partnerships and act as a brand ambassador.
- Website and Email marketing – Edit and update the website and distribute engaging email newsletters weekly.
- Event Support – Provide creative support for admissions events, open houses, and seasonal school events.
- Team Collaboration – Coordinate with external vendors and internal decision makers to support the marketing team.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or a related field.
- Proven experience in marketing, preferably in the education sector.
- Familiarity with the German language and culture is a plus.
- Social media savvy with experience in creating short-form, energetic, and viral content.
- Familiarity with analytic tools on social media and Google.
- Comfortable shooting content using an iPhone along with proper lighting and sound techniques.
- Proficiency with Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite and WordPress.
- Experience with email marketing tools like Mailchimp or Constant Contact.
- Outgoing, approachable, and comfortable in social settings with students, teachers, and families.
