Social Media / Communications Manager

Full-Time Position – Immediate Opening

About Amdur Productions

Amdur Productions is a Chicago-area art festival and event production company seeking a high-energy, arts-loving professional to join our team. This role plays a key part in promoting our events, communicating with artists and the public, and building attendance and art sales. Expected to work weekends and holidays during the summer.

Primary Goal: Manage communications with artists and the public through e-blasts and social media

Secondary Goal: Promote festivals and events to increase attendance and encourage art buying

Office Responsibilities

Social Media & Digital Communications

  • Develop and post content including sizzle reels, raffles, award winners, event recaps, Facebook events, and live posting during events
  • Share event information with relevant Facebook groups, and create paid online advertising for each festival, coordinating with graphics provided by the Graphic Designer
  • Answer office phone, manage voicemail, and monitor general information email

E-Blast & Email Marketing

  • * Create and distribute e-blasts to our festival attendees, including monthly newsletters, Tuesday festival previews, Friday Forecast, Save-the-Date announcements, and "Tickets on Sale" campaigns
  • * Create and distribute e-blasts for our artist community, including calls for artists, application and registration information, boot camp info & artist newsletters

Public Relations (PR) Support

  • Adapt press releases as needed
  • Organize artists and artwork for media coverage on the news
  • Attend news stations for production when required
  • Send event information to chambers of commerce and municipalities
  • Create and maintain a media book for PR and graphic design

Marketing & Promotions

  • Develop ticket sales campaigns for the Gold Coast Art Fair, indoor shows and other events as needed
  • Coordinate with printers for marketing collateral, including posters, signs, and gift cards
  • Prepare and distribute festival posters
  • Prepare artist credentials

Website Management

  • Update our homepage, blog posts, sliders, logos and event information, including the Artist Exchange

On-Site Responsibilities

  • Take photos and videos at festivals
  • Capture booth images for artists
  • Live post from events and edit B-roll footage
  • Manage gift card reimbursements and poster giveaways
  • Coordinate on-site marketing efforts with sponsorship manager

Skills & Qualifications

  • Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok (required)
  • Knowledge of Google Suite, WordPress, and MailChimp (or willingness to learn)
  • Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-driven environment
  • Experience in event planning or production preferred
