A Day in the Life

This role will be responsible to build and operationalize a Cost-to-Serve capability across a fragmented, global service environment by integrating financial and operational data, establishing foundational data structures, and driving cross-functional execution.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
Develops long-range objectives and strategic plans for corporation or major division by identifying internal and external strategic issues that could affect growth and profitability. Scans environment for business opportunities, maintains surveillance over market, and may perform financial analysis of acquisition candidates. Develops and monitors profitability, productivity, and growth targets. May prepare acquisition proposals, recommend financial and nonfinancial strategic objectives and alternatives, and implement and maintain strategic and operational plans. Plans and coordinates business reviews, resource allocations, organization structures, and financial analysis.
This is not a traditional PM role. It requires a rare combination of:
- Data architecture thinking (defining what data should exist and how it connects)
- Analytical depth (working hands-on across messy, incomplete datasets)
- Business acumen (understanding cost drivers across regions, service models, and P&L impacts)
- Program leadership (driving alignment across Finance, IT, Service, and Regions) – heavily complex/matrixed org
- Communicate to executives & provide detailed/tactical direction to technical SME’s
Core focus areas
1. Cost-to-Serve Framework Development
- Define the data model and methodology for cost-to-serve (install base, transaction volume, cost pools)
- Establish initial manual frameworks to bridge current system gaps
- Create scalable structure aligned to future system harmonization
2. Data Integration & Insight Generation
- Consolidate fragmented data across Finance, Service Ops, and regional systems
- Translate raw data into actionable insights (cost drivers, variability, opportunities)
- Partner with analytics/reporting teams to build repeatable reporting
3. Cross-Functional Program Leadership
- Drive alignment across Finance, IT, Service Delivery, and Business Units
- Identify and resolve data gaps, inconsistencies, and ownership issues
- Act as the single-threaded leader for cost insights initiatives
4. Master Data Governance (Critical Add-On)
- Lead coordination of master data improvement efforts
- Translate business pain points into specific data requirements and fixes
- Provide executive-level clarity on impact vs. activity
5. Scrap, Obsolescence, Gain, and Loss (SOGL) Reduction & Execution
- Develop critical insights into current sources and drivers of SOGL across regions, products, and service activities
- Define clear metrics, baselines, and reduction targets for SOGL in partnership with Finance and Service leadership
- Lead or oversee execution of prioritized initiatives and projects targeting SOGL reduction, tracking progress and realized impact
Must Have:
Bachelor's degree and minimum of 7+ years of relevant experience, or Advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience.

- Deep Excel / data wrangling / analytical thinking (not a technical dashboard developer)

For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
