About the Role

The Marketing & SEO Specialist drives digital growth through content creation, search optimization, and website performance. This role owns the Maggie Sottero blog and website content — writing and optimizing across pages and on-page elements with a focus on search intent, brand voice, and conversion.

This position leads SEO and Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) strategy informed by keyword insights and evolving search behavior, including visibility across AI-powered experiences such as featured snippets, structured data, and LLM-cited sources. It works cross-functionally with marketing, brand design, and web teams and reports to the Marketing Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute SEO and AEO strategies to improve rankings, traffic, and conversions.
  • Optimize content for AI-powered search experiences, including featured snippets, FAQ structure, schema markup, and citation-building for LLM-based platforms (Gemeni, ChatGPT, etc.).
  • Execute link-building initiatives and manage backlink health.
  • Monitor competitor strategies and emerging trends across search and AI.

Content Creation & Management

  • Own the blog content calendar, targeting high-impact, seasonal, and growth-focused keywords.
  • Write, optimize, and publish SEO-driven content aligned with search intent and conversion goals.
  • Manage and publish blog content within WordPress CMS, ensuring proper formatting, SEO structure, and on-page optimization.

Social & Visual Content

  • Work with the brand design team to develop blog and social assets that support content performance.
  • Manage content distribution across Instagram and Pinterest, including Pin SEO, keyword-rich descriptions, and content repurposing strategies tailored to high-intent bridal audiences.

Technical SEO & Site Optimization

  • Collaborate with web teams to optimize site architecture, internal linking, and metadata.
  • Update website copy and on-page elements to align with SEO best practices.
  • Conduct ongoing SEO audits; identify technical issues, content gaps, and performance opportunities.
  • Manage the external SEO partnership, including reviewing deliverables and implementing technical and strategic recommendations.

Analytics & Reporting

  • Use tools such as SEMrush, GA4, and Google Glimpse to track performance, conduct research, and identify growth opportunities.
  • Translate analytics into actionable insights to inform content and SEO strategy.
  • Report weekly on keyword performance, ranking trends, and visibility across priority terms.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field.
  • 2 – 4+ years of experience in content, SEO, or digital marketing.
  • Strong writing and editing skills with a clear understanding of search intent.
  • Experience working within WordPress CMS.
  • Proficiency with GA4, SEMrush, and Google Search Console.
  • Solid understanding of technical SEO concepts, including site structure, indexing, metadata, and schema markup.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Analytical mindset with a focus on performance and optimization.

Salary: $25 - $32/hour based on experience
