Position Overview

The Email Marketing Specialist serves as a critical driver of consumer engagement by strategically managing the end-to-end consumer lifecycle. This role ensures every touchpoint aligns with brand objectives while delivering highly relevant, segmented content that resonates across diverse audiences. Balancing strategic vision with hands-on execution, the Specialist leverages data-driven insights to optimize campaigns, enhance engagement, and strengthen long-term consumer relationships.

Core Responsibilities

Audience Segmentation and Lifecycle Management

  • Develop and implement sophisticated audience segmentation strategies to ensure highly relevant, personalized content delivery across diverse consumer cohorts that drives engagement and builds loyalty.
  • Orchestrate the end-to-end consumer email journey, identifying key opportunities for lead magnets, automated triggers, re-engagement campaigns, loyalty-driven touchpoints, and organic growth of the subscriber base.
  • Produce creative briefs and communicate direction for email topics and accompanying visuals to the Creative Services team, ensuring alignment across messaging and brand standards.
  • Collaborate with the Brand Marketing team to align email initiatives with multi-channel campaigns, ensuring a seamless and cohesive brand experience.
  • Analyze KPIs, such as subscriber behaviour, engagement and retention metrics to refine targeting parameters, optimize list growth, and foster long-term health of the email databases.

Technical Execution and CRM Optimization

  • Manage the deployment of all email campaigns within CRM platforms, encompassing troubleshooting, template management, link validation, and beyond.
  • Oversee the rigorous quality assurance process for every deployment, ensuring good rendering across various devices, browsers, and email clients.
  • Integrate dynamic content blocks and advanced personalization tags to enhance the sophistication of outbound communications.
  • Maintain email list integrity, overseeing data hygiene practices and list management to minimize bounce rates and maximize deliverability.

Email Compliance and Governance

  • Ensure full CASL and PIPEDA compliance by maintaining opt-in mechanisms, consent records, and unsubscribe protocols, staying current with legal requirements and confidently applying it in day-to-day email operations.
  • Monitor global privacy trends and deliverability standards to proactively adjust internal workflows and mitigate risks.
  • Establish and document standardize operating procedures for email deployment to ensure consistency and operational excellence.

Performance Analysis and Optimization

  • Execute A/B testing framework, focused on subject lines, creative layouts, and CTA placements, to drive continuous improvement in open and click-through rates.
  • Analyze and translate campaign results into actionable insights that inform future strategy, identify opportunities for consumer education, and strengthen engagement.
  • Monitor industry benchmarks and emerging email marketing trends to maintain leadership in email communications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Marketing, Communications, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in email marketing or comparable role.
  • Hands-on experience in CRM platforms, such as Mailchimp, Klaviyo, and Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to execute integrated marketing campaigns.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to collaborate across teams and stakeholders.
