About The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and creative Marketing and Social Media Associate to join our team. In this role, you will be instrumental in expanding Empower’s online presence and strengthening our brand visibility across various digital platforms. You will lead content creation efforts, manage social media engagement, and develop strategies to grow our online community organically. This position offers the opportunity to work directly with Empower’s executive leadership, providing insights and contributing to strategic marketing initiatives. The role requires a proactive team player who can adapt quickly in a fast-paced startup environment. While the position is based in McLean, Virginia, remote candidates from New York or Miami will also be considered. Approximately 20% of your time may involve supporting operational activities such as event planning and partnership development, making this a versatile and impactful role within the organization.
Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in social media marketing, content creation, or related roles
• Proven ability to organically grow social media followings and engagement
• Strong copywriting skills with the ability to craft compelling messages
• Proficiency in video production, editing, and optimization for short-form content
• Experience creating diverse content formats including videos, images, and text
• Deep understanding of social media analytics and ability to derive actionable insights
• Highly organized with a proactive approach to tasks and deadlines
• Attention to detail and accountability in all deliverables
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment
• Professionalism and discretion in handling confidential information
  

Responsibilities

• Create, edit, and post engaging content across all social media platforms to drive organic growth
• Produce, film, and edit short-form videos, including street interviews and promotional clips
• Design graphics, memes, and multimedia content to enhance brand visibility
• Identify and develop strategic partnerships with online influencers and offline entities
• Monitor social media analytics regularly to evaluate performance and optimize strategies
• Build and nurture online communities to foster engagement and loyalty
• Assist with email marketing campaigns and other non-social media promotional activities
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support marketing initiatives and events
• Stay updated on social media trends and best practices to continually improve content effectiveness
