E-Commerce Operations Manager, Emerging Product

About the Team:
The Emerging Product Engineering Team is the incubator for TikTok USDS JV's newest ventures in the US market. We are responsible for the end-to-end success of a diverse portfolio of applications. We operate with a strong “0→1” mindset, prioritizing agility, rapid iteration, and creative problem-solving to build and scale products.
We are looking for an E-commerce Operations Manager to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- USDS Storefront Governance: Serve as the primary operational owner of the U.S. Shopify Plus storefront. Ensure all daily web operations, UI/UX deployments, and catalog updates.
- Third-Party (3P) App Auditing & Integration: Act as the compliance gatekeeper for all Shopify ecosystem plugins (tax calculators, review aggregators, loyalty programs). Conduct rigorous data-flow audits to ensure no consumer Personally Identifiable Information (PII) is routed to processing endpoints outside the U.S.
- Cross-Border Data Sanitization: Manage the operational pipeline that converts Tier 1 Protected U.S. Data (row-level PII, device telemetry) into Tier 2 Sanitized Telemetry.
- Production Incident Triage & Access Control: Lead cross-border incident management during P1 storefront outages. Enforce Just-In-Time (JIT) Bastion Host protocols, ensuring engineers can troubleshoot production issues under strict U.S.-based oversight and keystroke logging.
- Logistics & CS Compliance Alignment: Partner with U.S. Commercial Legal to enforce data custody rules across vendor networks. Ensure Third-Party Logistics (3PL), returns/RMA centers, and Customer Support CRM workflows maintain physical and technical isolation of U.S. consumer data and device serial numbers.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Information Systems, Operations, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in e-commerce operations, digital storefront management (Shopify Plus strongly preferred), or technical program management.
- Proven track record operating within highly regulated, compliance-gated environments (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, ITAR, or specialized national security frameworks).
- Deep understanding of e-commerce web architecture, third-party API integrations, and CI/CD deployment pipelines.
- Strong executive communication skills with the ability to firmly enforce compliance boundaries while collaborating with highly driven commercial and technical teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience designing or enforcing Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and zero-trust architectures for commercial applications.
- Familiarity with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and data localization hosting strategies.
- Previous experience evaluating vendor Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) and conducting security vetting for SaaS tools.
- A background navigating complex, cross-border matrixed organizations, specifically bridging the gap between global Go-To-Market (GTM) teams and regional cybersecurity mandates.

【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (Annually)
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $104712 - $192534 annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).
