The role combines editorial judgment, platform expertise, and performance analysis. It partners with product marketing, demand generation, design, communications, and subject-matter experts to grow the brand, support campaigns, and turn audience signals into measurable marketing opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
The Social Media Manager owns organic social strategy for a technology company, translating product launches, customer insights, and technical narratives into content that builds awareness and qualified engagement across LinkedIn, X, YouTube, and emerging channels.
The role combines editorial judgment, platform expertise, and performance analysis. It partners with product marketing, demand generation, design, communications, and subject-matter experts to grow the brand, support campaigns, and turn audience signals into measurable marketing opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage the organic social strategy, channel plans, and editorial calendar across LinkedIn, X, YouTube, and relevant industry platforms
- Create, edit, and publish platform-native content, including technical explainers, customer stories, product announcements, short-form video, executive posts, and campaign assets
- Translate complex technology, data, cybersecurity, cloud, or SaaS concepts into clear, credible content for technical and business audiences
- Own social publishing and listening workflows using tools such as Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Buffer, or native platform managers; maintain approval and governance processes
- Measure channel performance through GA4, native analytics, and reporting dashboards; track reach, engagement, traffic, conversions, share of voice, and assisted pipeline
- Partner with design, video, product marketing, PR, and demand generation teams to launch integrated campaigns and maintain consistent messaging
- Monitor industry conversations, customer feedback, and emerging platform trends; recommend content, community, and paid amplification opportunities
- 3-6 years of experience managing social media, content marketing, brand, or integrated marketing programs for a technology, SaaS, cybersecurity, cloud, or data company
- Demonstrated success building organic social programs and content calendars across LinkedIn, X, YouTube, and related channels
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to make technical subjects accessible without sacrificing accuracy
- Hands-on experience with social publishing, listening, and analytics tools such as Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Buffer, GA4, Looker Studio, or comparable platforms
- Working knowledge of social measurement, UTM governance, SEO fundamentals, content testing, and campaign attribution
- Strong project-management skills and experience coordinating reviews with executives, subject-matter experts, legal, product, and communications teams
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field; Bonus: experience with paid social, video production, influencer or developer communities, employee advocacy, and marketing automation platforms
